Design ideas for ceilings

Suspended ceiling design that sets the tone for the entire room (+9 photos)

A creative design suspended ceiling in the restaurant hall, as evidence of the widest possible use of the KRAFT cube-shaped rail.

We constantly talk about the fact that the cube-shaped slatted ceiling has countless variations for design. This is due to a combination of various parameters of the rail and the ceiling as a whole. Let's take this object as an example.

The photo shows two adjacent halls of the restaurant, united by a common style and design. The only difference between them is the suspended ceiling. In the first room, we see a cube-shaped slatted false ceiling using wood-grained slats. In the second hall of the restaurant, a suspended ceiling made of pyramidal grilyato with the same wood texture was installed. Despite different types of false ceilings, both halls of the restaurant look stylish and harmonious. And, if there are no features in the hall with open cell ceiling, then we will consider the hall with the KRAFT cube-shaped rail in more detail in order to understand what design techniques were used when designing the suspended ceiling.

In short, on the ceiling, only the alternation of the rail in height and pitch was used. It sounds simple, but in fact, here we can note the excellent work of the designer, who, from a seemingly simple set of rails, made a fantastic ceiling that you will not see anywhere else. So, what techniques were used to design this ceiling?

1. Use of adjacent rails of different heights
The height of the KRAFT cube rail is 35-105 mm in 10 mm increments. The height of the cube-shaped rail is the parameter that gives volume to the suspended ceiling. The difference between the minimum and maximum height is 70 mm. This difference is perfectly visible from any distance. A step of 10 mm is no longer visible, which makes it possible to create the impression of a smooth transition from a lower rail to a higher one.

2. Using different spacing of rails to create figures
The designer chose 104 mm as the main rail pitch. This is a justified decision, given that the ceilings are quite high. And at the same time, the choice of such a step gave room for creativity. Rails, forming a three-dimensional pattern, are conditionally divided into separate sectors. Thanks to the selected pitch of 104 mm, adjacent sectors intersect with each other. And at the points of their intersection, the step of the rail is 52 mm - and this is an almost continuous surface. Therefore, thanks to this technique, additional patterns are formed on the ceiling, which look great in the overall design. By the way, just such a technique was used in the suspended ceiling of the food court in the Karavan shopping center.

Summing up, I would like to note once again that the cube-shaped rail is the most suitable material for creating unique designer ceilings. All you need is a little imagination.

Inspiration to you!
